MaxLife Programs
POWER!
The power program is a sports specific training program designed the needs of all level athletes. This program consists of a 3-cycle system; each cycle lasts 8 weeks meeting twice a week and each cycle building upon the previous.
- Cycle 1: SHAPE! is about conditioning. In order to complete in ANY sport, you need to have the "legs" for it. Cardiovascular conditioning not only builds overall health, but increases your ability to play.
- Cycle 2: STRENGTH! does just what it says. This period is used to build functional strength and power. Using such methods as eccentric training and rapid movement training we are able to increase the amount of force an athlete can generate. We sharpen the body's synergistic chains so everything fires in sync creating a stronger, faster, well oiled machine. This machine can then be molded into a top athlete.
- Cycle 3: SKILL! athletes learn new skills such as targeting, hand to eye coordination, balance, gross motor coordination, and information processing. Our job is not to teach the sport itself, but to create an environment where athletes can master specific skills needed to excel in their particular sport.
Bring your friends as this program can be done in groups of up to 4 people.
PARTNERS-IN-TRAINING:
Staying in shape can be a difficult thing. Training with a friend adds motivation and competition to your workouts. These sessions consist of a mixture of strength, agility, and circuit training. They are designed to work both parties to their maximum potential.
FAMILY FIT:
It has become common for moms and dads to drop their children off at dance, gymnastics, and soccer etc and watch from the sidelines or sit on the bench. What about fitness as a family? I am certain some of you would be interested in a “structured” family wellness program designed and taught by a healthcare professional that is fun and beneficial! You may have concerns about health, nutrition and avoiding obesity but where do you turn for a proven program that works?
POSTURE:
Poor posture is an issue running rampant in our society. Poor posture can lead to things such as severe neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder issues, chronic hip problems, and sciatica. After a careful posture analysis, we work together to correct all muscular imbalances. This program will include a set of home exercises and stretches for you to do, and with a little diligence, we can have you noticing the trees instead of the grass.
POST-REHABILITATION:
After a consultation with your physical therapist and/or doctor, we work on taking the strength and functionality you've gained from physical therapy and increasing it.
PRE/POST NATAL:
Following strict ACOG guidelines and recommendations from your doctor, we work to make your pregnancy easier by helping to decrease joint aches and improve balance. Exercise has been shown to not only to make the pregnancy easier, but the actual birth process as well. For those Post Natal clients, congratulations! Using appropriate methods, we will help you regain your pre-baby body.
BALANCE:
How long can you stand on one leg? Our balance program follows a careful progression of exercises designed specifically for you. This program challenges you by playing with both your base of support and your center of gravity. As you master the external forces involved with balance, you begin to focus a little more on other aspects.
OSTEOPOSOSIS:
Most medical brochures speak vaguely of exercise when it comes to combating osteoporosis. They mention "weight bearing exercise" and walking. The best way to combat osteoporosis is to not only walk, but also strength train. Keeping the muscles strong will not only ease the stress place on the bones, but also help to slow down the decrease or in some cases, increase bone mineral density. The osteoporosis program consists of body weight and free weight exercises designed to abate the symptoms of osteoporosis and osteopenia.
